Prostate Care
Prostate cancer is a disease that afflicts thousands of men all over the world. While the mortality rate for prostate cancer may be lower than other types of cancer, this does not mean an individual should neglect proper prostate care so as to reduce risks before contracting the disease; nor should it mean the individual should shirk all forms of prostate after the cancer is detected.
- Prostate Prevention
As the old saying goes, 'Prevention is better than an ounce of cure'; same thing holds true with prostate prevention. In fact, according to studies, if men in the ages of 30 to 40 would only check for the early signs of prostate cancer, he might have a 90% chance of surviving cancer, if ever he would be found to be suffering from it, without any complications, and live a fruitful and healthy life.
- Prostate Nutrition
Proper nutrition is the first key in prostate cancer prevention. Even before signs and symptoms of prostate cancer will surface, proper prostate nutrition should be incorporated in the daily diet intake of men. Wrong nutrition rises up the prostate cancer barometer even for males under the low risk group.
- Prostate Supplements
Regular test screening is the first step in preventing and managing early stage of prostate cancer. The second step, but the most important one, is to get your daily prostate supplements. You can get your daily nutritional intake of these prostate supplements by incorporating in your diet foods that are rich in lycopene, isoflavones, sulforaphane and polyphenols, the anti-cancer chemicals.
- Prostate Cancer Prevention
According to the National Cancer Institute, the most common ways to reduce prostate cancer risks revolve around what one eats. One must try to take care of one’s diet and steps towards proper prostate cancer prevention will be undertaken. A diet high in animal fat will greatly increase the risk factor. Also, excess consumption of dairy products can increase risk factors.
- Prostate Cancer Mortality
The subject matter of prostate cancer mortality is nowhere near as morose as one would assume. The reason for this is that the mortality rate of prostate cancer is significantly lower than other forms of cancer. This does not mean that prostate cancer is something that should not be taken seriously. It is still a life threatening condition, just one that has a higher chance for survival that other forms of cancer in existence.
- Prostate Medicine
There is no standard treatment in curing prostate cancer patients. Every patient has his individual and special needs. A newly diagnosed prostate cancer patient need not undergo the aggressive prostate medicine or treatment option of someone with metastasized cancer cells or he might suffer more or die faster in the process. Choosing what is the best clinical treatment option for him is a personal matter and should be discussed with his physician.
- Prostate Doctors
Prostate doctors have made some significant changes to their methodology of conducting prostate cancer tests. This may seem out of the ordinary for the medical profession, but it isn’t as changes in procedure occur frequently.
- Prostate Vitamins
There are studies which show that Beta Carotene, Vitamin E and Selenium help fight cancer, although no proof has been shown for their ability to prevent prostate cancer, per se. In fact, there is a study, although it is still inconclusive, which shows that intake of these vitamins in large doses advances the stage of a prostate cancer patient.
- Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia
An age related, non-malignant enlargement of the prostate gland,
benign prostatic hyperplasia is a common disorder of men as they get
older. The prostate, very small at birth, grows during puberty and
reaches adult size around the age of 20.
- Prostate Cancer
Prostate cancer is the most common form of cancer in men and the
second leading cause of male death in North America. Increasing in
incidence with age, it is primarily a disease of older men with most
of the cases diagnosed in men older than 65 years of age. Each year
it is estimated that approximately 189,000 men will receive a
prostate cancer diagnosis and 30,000 men will die from its effects.
- Prostate Cancer Test
Although an increasing number of men are now diagnosed with
asymptomatic prostate cancer, many men with this form of cancer have
either locally advanced cancer or distant metastasis at the time of
diagnosis. Because there are no current ways to prevent the
development of prostate cancer it is important that early detection
with tests for prostate cancer be used as a major emphasis to
control this disease.
- Prostate Cancer Treatment
The treatment of prostate cancer is complex and depends on a
multitude of issues that includes the grade and stage of the cancer
along with the age, overall health and the type of treatment that
the patient is comfortable with.
